If the disc has been used for no more than 4 weeks, the contraceptive efficacy is preserved. Remove the disc and take a one-week break from using it, and then put on a new one.
If the disc has been used for more than 4 weeks, the contraceptive efficacy may be reduced and pregnancy should be ruled out before a new ring is inserted. You can take a pregnancy test from the pharmacy for this purpose, e.g.:
