Can I stop taking Duloxetine 5 days after I start using it?
24.99 zł

Hello, I've been taking duloxetine (30mg/morning) for 5 days but the side effects prevent me from functioning (constipation, dizziness, stomach pain). I've heard that this type of medication should be stopped gradually, and I'm wondering if I need to follow a withdrawal protocol after such a short period of time, or if I can just not take it from tomorrow?

Information in the summary of product characteristics:

"The most commonly reported adverse reactions in patients taking duloxetine were nausea, headache, dry mouth, somnolence and dizziness. However, most of the most commonly reported adverse reactions were mild or moderate in severity, usually occurring shortly after starting treatment and mostly resolving with continued treatment."

These symptoms may disappear spontaneously within the first two weeks of starting treatment. If the severity of your condition actually prevents you from functioning on a daily basis, you can stop using it because the drug was taken for a very short time at the lowest possible dose. However, it is a good idea to talk to your doctor beforehand.
