Unfortunately, the Fluenz Tetra vaccine is already available in less than 1% of pharmacies connected to our portal.
We have information from the manufacturer that last week's delivery of the Fluenz Tetra vaccine was the first and last planned delivery of this preparation to the Polish market in the 2023/24 flu season. 25,000 units of the vaccine have been delivered to pharmacies and it will only be available until current stocks are exhausted.
Fluenz Tetra is a flu vaccine for children and adolescents between 2 and 18 years of age. The drug is in the form of an intranasal spray and its composition changes with each flu season, as recommended by the WHO.
According to the summary of product characteristics, children who have not been previously vaccinated against seasonal influenza should receive a second dose at least 4 weeks apart.
If this is not possible, and there are no contraindications, the doctor may decide to use a mixed regimen, i.e. to be vaccinated with another preparation (e.g. an intramuscular vaccine). There is also an approach that a child in such a situation will be vaccinated with simply one dose of the preparation.
However, he suggests consulting a pediatrician.

At the moment, the only flu vaccine that is available in pharmacies is Vaxigrip Tetra.

It is also a product registered for use in children from 6 months of age.
