Should I stop taking the Orlificique contraceptive pill if I have elevated D-dimers?

Can elevated D-dimers with the use of orlifique tablets indicate thrombosis, I am on half of the 4th blister and I was ordered this test in connection with calf pain. Can I stop taking the pills without consulting my doctor?

Although the D-dimer test is performed in the diagnosis of venous thromboembolism, it is not a specific, unambiguous indicator of the occurrence of thrombosis. Elevated concentration of D-dimer may also be the result of, for example, injury, infection or liver disorders. Therefore, it is necessary to contact your doctor, as additional tests may be needed to decide whether to continue using contraception. If you do not feel any other discomfort, there is no need to stop using the tablets until you consult your doctor. It is necessary to observe for symptoms such as pain, redness and swelling of the lower limbs, pain when walking, shortness of breath, cough and severe headaches. If they occur, seek medical attention immediately.
