To @ona258:
Yes, after taking Escitalopram for a long time, you may experience menstrual cycle disorders, even if it has not been affected by the drug before. Although Escitalopram is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) and is relatively well tolerated, everyone's body reacts differently.
If you notice any irregularities in your cycle, it is worth consulting a doctor. He or she can assess whether these changes may be related to the drug and consider possible modifications in therapy.
And can cycle disorders still occur after a long time of taking the drug, if the drug has not affected the cycle so far?

To @Iwona:
Response to treatment is individual. Cycles may stabilize after 2-3 months of treatment.
And does it go away once the drug kicks in? So there is nothing to worry about if your period is delayed at the beginning of taking medication?

Yes. Escitalopram is an antidepressant that belongs to a group of medicines called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). SSRIs are widely used to treat depression and other mental disorders. In some cases, the use of escitalopram can lead to changes in the menstrual cycle in some women. Some possible side effects associated with escitalopram include changes in the menstrual cycle, such as menstrual irregularity, delays or amenorrhea. There is therefore a risk that the delay in the period is due to the use of the medicine.
