Good morning, For a year I have been taking hormonal contraception - madinette tablets. Bleeding occurs on the 17th day of the blister (when I still take tablets with the active ingredient) and ends after a few days. It is not very abundant. Why do I bleed earlier than I should? Does this mean that contraception does not work? Man 30 years.

It is difficult to determine what the reason for this may be. Bleeding and mid-cycle spotting usually subside after a few months of using birth control pills, so in this situation I recommend going to the gynecologist who can perform tests to rule out non-hormonal causes of these bleedings. The occurrence of intracyclic bleeding does not necessarily indicate a weakened effect of the tablets.
