Howdy
I am a 26-year-old guy who suffers from papulopustular rosacea and comorbid acne. For about two years I have been followed by a dermatologist who has done a great job, managing to limit the symptoms of rosacea and completely eliminate thoracic acne and almost completely facial acne.
Twenty days ago, however, after an acne rash, he prescribed epiduo 0.1 on my face to be applied in the evening, in order to reduce the pimples and make the rash subside. I stopped using epiduo after about twenty days as per the dermatologist's advice, when I noticed that the skin, especially where I have rosacea (cheeks), was reddening a lot and also starting to burn and itch. I have suspended epiduo for almost twenty days now but the redness-burning, in particular on the right side of the face where I also have some small pustules / papules, occurs at least once a day, especially in the evening, without apparent triggers and struggling to bring the skin back to a "normal" state even for a few hours (on the left part of the face it seems that there is almost nothing).
My question: is it possible that epiduo 0.1, having been applied drastically and for almost twenty days, still has an effect on my sensitive skin causing these localized redness? If it is possible, how long should it take approximately before all this stops? The doubt also came to me because it is something localized, in fact, while my rosacea is quite symmetrical when it manifests on its own. The temples in particular seem to belong to two different people during these rashes: on the right very red and sore, on the left normal skin color and no pain.
Thank you for any clarification!
