To @Micha:

If your child vomited 30 minutes after being given Tamiflu, there is a chance that some of the active substance may have already been absorbed, as absorption of oseltamivir starts quickly after oral administration.

However, in such a situation, it is best to consult a doctor, who can assess whether another dose should be given. In the future, it is advisable to administer the medication after eating or with little food to reduce the risk of nausea.

If the drug has been administered and the child vomits after 30 minutes, can we hope that something has been absorbed and will work?

Nausea and vomiting are a common side effect of Tamiflu (oseltamivir) - they can affect up to 1 in 10 people taking the medicine. It may be helpful to administer the medicine after a meal - this should reduce nausea. Discontinuation of the drug before the end of treatment is not recommended due to the possibility of recurrence of the disease, however, if the side effects do not go away and the child's condition does not improve, you should consult a doctor. On our portal you can use the teleconsultation: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja/z-pediatra Vomiting increases the risk of dehydration of the child, therefore electrolytes can be administered prophylactically, e.g.: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/57960/orsalit-o-smaku-malinowym-proszek-do-wytworzenia-zawiesiny/apteki https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/1698/acidolit-bezsmakowy-proszek-do-wytworzenia-zawiesiny/apteki On our portal you can compare the prices of these preparations in online pharmacies and place an order with home delivery or collection at the pharmacy.
