These drugs should not be combined. Melatonin may enhance the sedative properties of benzodiazepines and non-benzodiazepines such as zaleplon, zolpidem (e.g. zolpic) and zopiclone. As a consequence, excessive sleepiness, dizziness, impaired concentration, headaches and even fainting may occur.
