Both Levetiracetam and Depakine Chrono are first-line medicines for antiepileptic treatment. Levetiracetam is considered an alternative treatment with e.g. valproic acid and sodium valproate (Depakine Chrono) due to its similar effectiveness, fewer side effects and fewer possible drug interactions.
