Good morning, taking the first capsule of Dexilant, I did not swallow it, as it should be done with modified release drugs, but I chewed the shell and drank the granules from the inside with water. In this situation, will Dexilant work worse or may there be any disturbing symptoms? Thank you and best regards

It is allowed to pour out the contents of the Dexilant capsule and take only the granules (these granules provide a modified release). However, be careful not to chew them and take them immediately after pouring out. The effect of the drug remains preserved and there is no increased risk of side effects.
