How long after discontinuation of Glucophage XR disappears from the body and when can I drink alcohol?

The end of glucophage XR treatment and alcohol - on the doctor's order I stop the drug, but I forgot to ask him what time after discontinuation I can drink alcohol. I am not diabetic, I need an answer after what time the drug will disappear from the body and not whether it is safe to stop it or not. 2 weeks? Thank you
