Good morning. I would like to ask if someone undergoes shingles or can you use NSAIDs, i.e. i.e. ibuprofen, aspirin, etc.. I found such information on many websites, but I know that with chickenpox they are not recommended, because they can intensify the effect of a viral disease? In the same way, does it make sense to use shingles for lubrication on ointments of the Vralizolin type, which has an antiviral effect on herpes? (I also read such information on various pages) Thank you for your reply.

Shingles is caused by the same virus as chickenpox - VZV (varicella zoster virus). Ibuprofen is not recommended for these conditions because it may increase the risk of superinfection of skin lesions. In analgesic treatment, paracetamol should be used first, in case of ineffectiveness, the drug should be changed. I warn you that the doctor may decide to use NSAIDs. As for Vratizolin, you are right – the drug has indications for the treatment of herpes labial, but its active substance - denotivir - is also effective against the VZV virus and relieves pain in the course of shingles.
