Is it possible to use charcoal to treat antibiotic diarrhea in a pregnant woman?

Can I use charcoal to treat the symptoms of antibiotic diarrhea in pregnancy (10 weeks)? If so, what dose to take in the evening so that the symptoms are not severe in the morning? The doctor only recommended a probiotic, however, I need to do a urine test and I am afraid that diarrhea may make it difficult to take a sample properly, especially since diarrhea is most severe when I wake up. Thank you

Answering the first part of the question, I would like to point out that currently medicinal charcoal is not recommended at all for the treatment of diarrhea. Additionally, it can lead to the occurrence of constipation, which is not desirable. Instead of coal, Smecta sachets can be used. The diosmectite contained in them has a high safety profile and has only a local effect within the gastrointestinal tract, hence it can be safely used. In order to check the availability of Smecta or book it, just click on the link: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/72098/smecta-proszek-do-wytworzenia-zawiesiny/apteki. I pay special attention not to use any other preparation 2 hours before and after using Smecta, as its absorption may be disturbed. Indeed, the use of probiotics is crucial in this situation. Due to pregnancy, I suggest using one of the drugs with probiotic bacteria, i.e. Lakcid Forte or Lacidofil. Their availability in pharmacies along with the possibility of booking can be checked in the following links: - https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/42281/lakcid-forte-kapsulki/apteki; - https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/42092/lacidofil-kapsulki/apteki. I mention these two drugs because in their case the manufacturers clearly inform about the lack of information about the harmful effects on the course of pregnancy. Of course, in the case of probiotic bacteria, it is difficult to talk about the possibility of disturbing pregnancy, because these are preparations that act locally. However, it is worth choosing at this point the form of the drug, and not necessarily a dietary supplement. For my part, I also emphasize the need for proper hydration of the body using electrolytes. More about them, along with examples of preparations, can be read in the following article: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/elektrolity.
