Inositol is considered a safe substance, and side effects after use, if any, are short-lived and of low severity. In the literature, information is available about the possibility of nausea and stomach pain when taking Inositol, usually side effects were observed when taking doses greater than 12g per day. There are no reports of a direct effect of Inositol on the gastric mucosa, it is also not contraindicated during gastritis. Given the available information, Inositol should not irritate the stomach.
