A condom is effective during intercourse in the shower, provided that it is not damaged by contact with water, soap or other substances (e.g. condoms, especially latex condoms, can damage creams or body oils). Water itself does not affect its effectiveness.
During menstruation, the risk of pregnancy is lower, as ovulation usually takes place in the middle of the cycle, and sperm can survive in a woman's body for up to 5 days. Nevertheless, if the cycle is irregular and ovulation occurs earlier, the pregnancy risk on the first day of menstruation is not zero.
In the case of unprotected intercourse on the first day of menstruation, although the risk of pregnancy is low, there is always the possibility of conception, especially if the cycle is shorter than the standard 28 days. It is worth considering using additional contraceptive methods to minimize the risk.

Stress can actually delay menstruation. To be sure, it is worth taking a pregnancy test. In the future, it is recommended to use contraception (e.g. a condom) with every sexual contact for safety.
