1. Esoxx One has the status of a medical device, right? I want it to be a medicine and not a medical device or a dietary supplement. Medical devices are something between a medicine and a dietary supplement – their effect can be therapeutic, but only to a limited extent. We wrote more about it here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/wyroby-medyczne-a-leki-i-suplementy-diety 2. Is it possible to use a drug called Alugastrin in addition to Gaviscon? Alugastrin (the so-called milk) is an old generation drug, currently rarely recommended by specialists. A new version is more often recommended - Alugastrin 3 Forte, also based on alginates. https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/106855/alugastrin-3-forte-proszek-do-wytworzenia-plynu/apteki 3. If so, what will be better the one in tablets or in suspension? This is an individual matter. Tablets seem to be more convenient, because you can always have them with you. Syrup will be more problematic to carry, for example, in a bag. For how long to use? Gaviscon is indicated for short-term administration unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor. According to the manufacturer's information, if the symptoms do not disappear after 7 days of treatment, the patient's condition should be re-verified. https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/32049/gaviscon-o-smaku-miety-zawiesina/apteki https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/32050/gaviscon-o-smaku-miety-tabletki-do-ssania-gryzienia-zucia/apteki

Treatment of erosive esophagitis is most often carried out under the guidance of a specialist - a gastrologist. It is difficult to propose a specific method of treatment without knowing the history of the disease and on the basis of such a brief description. A pharmacist within his competence may propose symptomatic agents, e.g. based on alginates (e.g. Gaviscon), which act directly in the stomach will be much more effective than drugs acting in the esophagus. They form a kind of raft and prevent the gastric contents from retreating into the esophagus. https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/32049/gaviscon-o-smaku-miety-zawiesina/apteki A very good drug seems to be a barrier preparation consisting of hyaluronic acid, chondroitin sulfate and poloxamer 407, i.e. Esoxx One. It not only creates a protective barrier on the mucous membrane of the esophagus, but also contributes to the acceleration of healing processes. https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/27635/esoxx-one-proszek-do-wytworzenia-plynu/apteki Drugs that improve the tone of the esophageal sphincter, e.g. Gasprid or Metoclopramide, are available on prescription, after prior consultation with the attending physician. If you are unable to get to your care doctor, the gdziepolek.pl service also allows you to obtain a teleconsultation with a doctor: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja

Thank you. From what I read about this disease, the drugs you mentioned are used when the cause of erosive esophagitis is reflux. I have been diagnosed with this disease, but reflux has been ruled out. If PPI drugs lower hydrochloric acid, and I do not have reflux, they are unlikely to help me. So what can I buy at the pharmacy if the cause of erosive esophagitis is not reflux?

The most popular group of drugs used for this esophageal disease are the so-called proton pump inhibitors, e.g.: Polprazole Max: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/63084/polprazol-max-kapsulki/apteki Controloc Control: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/19739/controloc-control-tabletki/apteki These drugs have analogous names in the prescription version. An alternative to this group of agents are H2-blockers, e.g.: Famotidine Ranigast: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/106686/famotydyna-ranigast-famogast-tabletki-powlekane/apteki Prescription analaog is Famogast: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/29155/famogast-tabletki-powlekane/apteki Antacids (e.g. aluminum and magnesium salts) may also be used, e.g.: Alugastrin 3 Forte: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/106855/alugastrin-3-forte-proszek-do-wytworzenia-plynu/apteki Maalox: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/45584/maalox-zawiesina/apteki
