A 2-in-1 test for influenza A and B and COVID-19 is already available in pharmacies: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/117516/test-antygenowy-grypa-a-b-covid-19-rsv-combo-ag-diather-test/apteki The test detects antigens of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and influenza A and B. Just take a swab from the nose yourself and the result is obtained after a few minutes. If we have symptoms such as fever, chills, headache, cough - they perform such a test we can check whether we are sick with the flu or COVID-19. One of the test areas contains adsorbed monoclonal antibodies directed against SARS-CoV-2 virus nucleocapsid proteins. After the test sample is introduced into the test cassette well, it is migrated to the conjugate zone, which contains antibodies conjugated with colloidal gold, directed against SARS-CoV-2 antigens. If the test sample contains antigens of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, an antigen-antibody-conjugate complex is formed. The resulting complex migrates to the area of the cassette test line where it combines with specific antibodies to form a visible, colored line. The presence of a colored line in the area of the test control line indicates a correctly conducted test. The second test area contains adsorbed specific antibodies directed against influenza A and B antigens. During the test, the sample with the test material undergoes an immunochemical reaction with specific antibodies, leading to the formation of immunocomplex. The resulting complex migrates to the area of the cassette test line where it combines with specific antibodies to form a visible, colored line. The presence of a colored line in the area of the test control line indicates a correctly conducted test.
