Diseases of the blood and hematopoietic system (haematological)
I have at home 2 untouched packages of sorbifer but.. have an expiration date of October 2020. If it is only iron and no medicine, can anything happen after taking such iron?

For @Magdalenka: Do not use any medicines after the expiry date. Not only may an expired drug no longer be effective, it can lead to side effects such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, or allergies. I am attaching a study that may be helpful: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-gdzie-wyrzucac-leki
I have a sorbifer saved by a doctor because I have very low iron all the time (recently 40 at the norm of 60-120). It was only difficult for me to motivate myself to take beforehand. But the doctor recently wrote me the sorbifer again and that's why I asked about the one from 2020 whether it is possible to use or better not

Sorbifer is a medicine and should not be used prophylactically - unless you are pregnant. The drug is indicated for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia, for the treatment of latent iron deficiency and prophylactically during pregnancy. Its use should be preceded by a study of iron levels. Sorbifer contains much higher doses of iron than over-the-counter agents. Its unfounded use can lead to heart failure, diabetes or cirrhosis. Excess iron in the blood causes its deposits to accumulate in the liver and pancreas. Thus, iron poisons the body.
