Cyclo 3 Fort has the effect of protecting blood vessels and improving the tone of the walls of venous vessels. Spiny ruscus, the active substance of the drug contains, m.in, steroid saponins (neoruscogenin, ruscin, ruskogenin, ruscoside), flavonoids, anthraquinones, essential oils, benzofuran derivatives, carbohydrates and fatty acids. Saponins increase venous tension and also inhibit elastase - an enzyme that has an affinity for the degradation of elastin present in capillaries. Thanks to the inhibition of elastin, capillaries are strengthened and sealed. Saponins also contribute to the strengthening of venous flow and venous blood pressure. Ruscus extract reduces the adhesion of leukocytes to the endothelium, which results in a reduction in inflammation (anti-inflammatory effect). The contraction of blood vessels with the participation of ruscus extract intensifies under the influence of heat and affects vessels in which varicose vein changes occur.
