Due to a chronic infection, I take Amoxicillin at a dose of 3x 500mg. Now the gastrologist prescribed me Xifaxan for SIBO - he wrote a dosage of 3x a day for 2 tablets, but added that he did not know if Xifaxan would not worsen the absorption of amoxicillin and maybe you should take Xifaxan 2x a day for 3 tablets so that the drugs do not interact - but he was not sure. Hence my question - can Xifaxan reduce the absorption of Amoxicillin and should it be used separately?

Xifaxan will have no effect on the absorption and pharmacokinetics of Amoxicycline. A friend also answered a similar question in the thread: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/opinie-i-pytania/76997/xifaxan-czy-mozna-stosowac-inne-antybiotyki-w-trakcie-leczenia-xifaxanem
