The drugs mentioned in the question: Seronil and Seroxat have the same mechanism of action (SSRIs). Their simultaneous use increases the risk of serotonin syndrome. Serotonin syndrome is manifested m.in confusion, agitation, fever, sweating, ataxia, hyperreflexia, muscle clonic seizures and diarrhea. This condition is distinguished by the so-called triad of symptoms, which includes: 1. Vegetative disorders, i.e. an increase in blood pressure, fever, diarrhea, vomiting and mydriasis. 2. Psychiatric symptoms, consisting of anxiety disorders, feelings of anxiety and confusion. 3. Neuromuscular ailments, i.e. recurrent cramps, pain and increased muscle tone. Therefore, if you observe this type of side effects, you should inform your doctor, who will decide on this basis about further proceedings. If the medicines have been prescribed by the same doctor at one visit, a consultation is necessary to determine whether these medicines can be used at the same time. If they were recommended at various visits, then it was probably about discontinuing one of the drugs, before starting therapy with a new preparation.
