Good morning I permanently take medications: Nedal, Rupafin, Xartan, Rytmonor 2×1 tab, Singular, inhalation Alvesco, Kaldyum, Magnefar, additionally Vit D. Currently I have pharyngitis the doctor ordered me Sumamed 500mg for 6 days. Whether the antibiotic reacts with my medications, it's mainly about the Rhythmonorm. Thank you. Best regards

The use of azithromycin (the active ingredient in Sumamed) together with propafenone (the active ingredient in Rytmonorm) may increase the risk of irregular heart rhythms. People with heart disease (especially congenital long QT syndrome) are more susceptible. However, the use of Rytmonorm is not a contraindication to treatment with this antibiotic. It is only worth being careful and in the event of disturbing symptoms, such as sudden dizziness, bewilderment, fainting, shortness of breath or palpitations, you should seek medical help. The antibiotic Sumamed does not interact with the other listed drugs.
