Although the manufacturer recommends caution in the use of the drug in nursing women, current sources of knowledge indicate that you can safely use Gynalgin while breastfeeding. Metronidazole is known to be classified as a low-risk substance during breastfeeding. Topical administration of the drug further reduces the chance of penetration of the drug into the milk in sufficient quantity, therefore the risk of side effects in the baby is marginal.
