Giving Thiocodin syrup to a 6-year-old is not recommended. This syrup can be safely used only in children over 12 years of age. In order to relieve dry and persistent cough at night, a 6-year-old child can use syrups with levodropropizine, e.g. Levopront or Unituss Junior or with butamirate, e.g. Sinecod, Attusan. Thiocodin syrup can be safely used only from the age of 12. According to the best sources of knowledge, a better choice for persistent, dry cough in children are drugs containing levodropropizine, e.g. Levopront, Unituss Junior or butamirate - however, for several months the access of drugs with butamirate has been very difficult. I mean Syrups Sinecod, Supremin and Atussan.
