To @Karol:
In the case of long-term high-dose treatment, discontinuation of the drug is started by reducing the dose by 1 mg per month, and in the case of a short period of treatment, by 2 to 5 mg every 2-7 days.
Yes, I understand that it is up to the attending physician to decide.
However, I would like to know in general what it looks like?
Is the dose reduced by e.g. 1 mg or can the dose be reduced by more than 1 mg?

To @Karol:
Treatment with Encorton should be completed under close supervision of your doctor. The dose of the drug and the schedule of its gradual withdrawal will be determined by the doctor individually, depending on the type of disease and the previous response to treatment.
I understand, thank you very much for your clarification.
So how should the dose of Encorton 5 mg be properly reduced?
Is it enough to reduce the dose by 1 mg?

To @Karol:
Encorton should not be discontinued abruptly, as this may cause adverse side effects for the body. Discontinuation of the drug should be done by gradually reducing the dose.
Can Encorton 5 mg be discontinued immediately? I've been taking it for almost 40 days now.
Do I need to gradually reduce the dose of the drug to safely discontinue it?

To @Babcia:
If your symptoms recur after you stop taking Encorton, talk to your doctor.
If it is not possible to make an in-person visit, I encourage you to take advantage of the teleconsultation, e.g. via the Gdziepolek.pl portal:
I've been taking encorton 10 mg 2 times a day for 2 months now, as soon as the basis I have severe joint pain, what should I do?

Up to @Eliza: If the therapy did not last more than 7 days, the treatment can be stopped overnight. According to the manufacturer: "Prednisone administered at a dose of up to 40 mg per day for a period of less than 7 days can be discontinued without the risk of inhibition of the pituitary-adrenal axis."
Can it be discontinued normally after 7 days of using encorton 20 mg

There is no unequivocal answer to this question - the dosage and duration of therapy is determined individually by the doctor, depending on the type of disease and the response to treatment. From the patient's point of view, it is important that with prolonged use it is advisable to gradually reduce the dose if the treatment comes to an end.
