I take Bisoprolol 2.5mg The cardiologist decided that I should stop taking it, when I asked how to stop taking it said that overnight. I read not to do so, so I started taking from today for the next 10 days half a tablet a day and the next ten days half a tablet once every 2 days. Is this approach good? In this way should I stop these pills?

According to the Safety Data Sheet, Bisoprolol should be discontinued gradually, i.e. the dose should be halved each week. So your line of reasoning is correct. I would only reduce the period from 10 days to 7 days. There is no need to take the drug every 2nd day. In order to make sure that the discontinuation of the drug went well, it is possible to stop the pharmacological treatment of hypertension, after discontinuation of the drug for several days, make repeated measurements of blood pressure at home, observing certain rules: 1. Blood pressure should be measured at least after 10 minutes of rest, in a warm room, an efficient apparatus with a cuff adapted to the circumference of the arm and placed at the level of the heart. 2. It is best to measure the pressure twice a day, in the morning and in the evening (before eating), and each time two measurements should be made at intervals of 1-2 minutes. 3. Hypertension is diagnosed when the average value of the pressure measurements made in this way for several days is equal to or higher than 135/85 mm Hg. When calculating the average value, pressure measurements made during severe nervousness, immediately after exercise and during severe pain should not be taken into account, because in such conditions the blood pressure is also increased in healthy people.
