Hello. Yesterday I was prescribed the antibiotic Cetix once a day for 7 days on the sinuses. Yesterday at 4 p.m. I took it for the first time and today from the very morning I get tired of a terrible headache that disappeared only a little after 3 pain pills. Is it possible that this headache is the result of taking an antibiotic? In a moment I will take the second dose of it because it is approaching 4 p.m.

One of the side effects of Cetix is headache. This is a symptom reported by up to 1 in 100 people using the drug. However, a headache can also be caused by worsening symptoms of infection. The antibiotic given needs time to cause a therapeutic effect: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/84653/cetix-tabletki-powlekane/ulotka/172877 If the described symptoms do not go away, I encourage you to consult your doctor and to report the side effect of the drug. Reporting side effects allows you to increase control over medicines available on the market. We wrote about how and why to report side effects in the article: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane I encourage you to read additional materials that may be useful: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/skuteczne-sposoby-na-zapalenie-zatok
