Amantadine (the active ingredient in Viregyt-K) passes into breast milk and side effects have been reported in infants breastfed by mothers taking the product. Women who are breastfeeding should not use Viregyt-K. There is currently no evidence of the effectiveness of amantadine in patients undergoing mild COVID-19 at home. Such studies are ongoing, but in the conditions of a controlled clinical trial and no official guidelines or recommendations - neither Polish nor foreign - include amantadine in the COVID-19 therapy regimen. However, its ineffectiveness in treating patients hospitalized due to COVID-19 has been proven. In the treatment of COVID-19, symptomatic drugs and several selected medicinal substances are used, which are implemented depending on the stage and severity of the disease: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/leki-na-covid-19
