Can Depakine cause changes in behaviour - nervousness and loss of self-control?

I took Depakine chrono 300 as a child and the so-called epileptic seizures did not decrease. I am one of the people who took these drugs irregularly. In the hospital, I took it again as prescribed by the attending physician, and the epilepsy attacks did not decrease. When I stopped taking these medications completely, the attacks were every 6-7 months, even up to 3-4 weeks. What can this mean? It only seems to me that it is an addiction to the drug.
