What could be the reason if I have had brown spotting for a few days and I expect a period?

I have been taking Sylvie 20 birth control pills for 8 months, I drink them regularly. I've had brown spotting for a few days now and I'm expecting a period. What could be the reason?

I am not sure what your question is about. During this 7-day break, during which sylvie tablets are not taken, withdrawal bleeding usually begins - generally 2-3 days after taking the last tablet. If the bleeding is scanty, it can take the form of spotting - then the blood is not bright red in color, but brown. Sometimes occasional withdrawal bleeding may not occur at all despite the absence of pregnancy. This is due to the action of the contraceptive pills themselves. If Sylve 20 tablets are used correctly, then the risk of pregnancy is negligible. However, when you are taking Sylvie 20 in the first few months, some women may have irregular bleeding from the genital tract (spotting or mid-cycle bleeding). Despite this, you should continue taking the tablets. In general, they disappear after 3 months of using the drug. If they persist or appear after a long time, then you should contact your doctor.
