Can I use iodine to burn a wart on my foot if I have Hashimoto's?

Hello, The podiatrist recommended me to lubricate the wound with iodine after burning a viral wart. I have hashimoto's disease. Won't iodine hurt me?

Iodine is a substance that is very easily absorbed, so - although there is a low risk of affecting the thyroid gland when using this remedy on the feet, iodine should be avoided in people with Hashimoto's.

It may be worth discussing with your doctor the legitimacy of using other products, e.g. freezing preparations or preparations based on salicylic acid and lactic acid - these agents can be purchased at the pharmacy without a prescription.
