In healthy elderly people (65 years and older), the mean half-life of olanzapine is 51.8 hours, and in younger and healthy people 33.8 hours. This is the time after which the concentration of the drug in the blood will drop by half. Thus, in order for the drug to be completely excreted from the body, several days are needed - about a week or so.
