What should I do if my hair falls out after Prolia?

On the last day of January this year, I got another injection of Prola. I go out of my hair by the handfuls. What am I supposed to do? I'm devastated. Blood tests and TSH in the norm.

It may be worth checking sex hormones - hair loss may also be associated with menopause or perform other tests as recommended by a dermatologist. Excluding other causes and if you are not taking other medicines, it is possible that you are experiencing side effects of Prolia. Hair loss (alopecia) may affect up to 1 in 10 people taking this medicine (but more than 1 in 100). Hair loss is thought to directly correspond to the mechanism by which denosumab (the active ingredient in Prolia) acts on cells and receptors. Prolia and hair loss (Anonymous, 49.130.132.) 4 months ago

I had Alopecia Areata two weeks after one shot of Prolia . Initially it was 2 cm large but now it is over 3 cm. I am considering to stop Prolia but worried my bone will get weaker. I would like to seek for your advice.

Up to @Anna M.V.:

Yes, hair loss is a possible side effect of Prolia, which affects up to 1 in 10 people. Hair loss can be caused by the effect of the drug on the hair follicles. If your hair loss gets worse after taking Prolia, it is worth reporting it as a side effect.

It is also worth consulting a dermatologist and checking the level of sex hormones, because hair loss can have various causes, such as menopause.

Today I had the first Prolia injection prescribed to me. Among the side effects I heard that there may be hair loss, and this worried me a bit, because after having Covid twice, my body has weakened a lot and I have already lost a lot of hair, which by the way has become bristly and electrified when I comb it... I do not take any particular drugs other than Dibase, Eutirox and Esomeprazole.

To @Maria:

Prolia can cause hair loss, which is known as drug-induced alopecia. This hair loss can occur as a result of the toxic effects of the drug on the hair follicle cells, leading to inhibition of hair growth and hair loss during the anagen (growth) phase.

In the case of drug-induced alopecia, many people experience hair regrowth after stopping the medication. Usually, hair begins to grow back within a few months after the end of therapy, although this time may vary depending on the individual body's predispositions and the length of use of the drug.

In this situation, I encourage you to consult a doctor who can assess your current health condition and suggest appropriate supportive treatment. It is also worth considering using mild hair care products and avoiding aggressive styling treatments that can add extra weight to the hair.

After 2 months from the Prolia syringe, I lost all my hair and hair. This medicine has had a chemo effect on me. And even now the effect of 6 months from administration is over, after 2 months they have not grown back. I would like to know if I will return as before that is if my hair will grow back, I am destroyed!
