According to the Product Characteristics, Amitryptylinum may have an effect on the marrow and blood. The effect on the blood can be to reduce the number of red blood cells (which transport oxygen in the body), white blood cells (which help fight infections) and platelets (which help with clotting). All these phenomena will be reflected in the results of blood counts. This is a rare side effect, it may affect no more than 1 in 1,000 people: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/4689/amitriptylinum-vp-tabletki-powlekane/ulotka/83624 It is of course a possible complication of long-term use, which may or may not occur in this particular case. The leaflet of the drug gives a statistical probability of the appearance of a given side effect, but does not allow to determine whether a person will have a specific effect.
