To zależy od wyniku wywiadu zebranego przez lekarza podczas rozmowy czy też wizyty. Lekarz może, ale nie musi wziąć pod uwagę historię dotychczasowego leczenia tym preparatem czy też preferencje pacjenta. Natomiast nie musi wystawić recepty "na żądanie".
