Pabi-Dexamethason zawiera deksametazon, który jest syntetycznym glikokortykosteroidem o bardzo silnym i długotrwałym działaniu przeciwzapalnym, przeciwalergicznym i immunosupresyjnym. Lek maksymalne stężenie w surowicy krwi osiąga po 1-2 godziny po podaniu.

Biologiczny okres półtrwania wynosi od 36 do 54 godzin. Zatem pełna eliminacja z organizmu nastąpi po 7,5 - 11,25 dniach.
