Can reducing the daily dose of Biseptol contribute to the development of resistance of this bacterium?

I was given Biseptol 960 for a bladder bacterial infection. After each dose, i.e. 1 tablet every 12 hours, I feel bad, I feel dizzy, nauseous, I do not want to eat. The doctor recommended reducing the dose by half, so now I have to take half a tablet every 12 hours and extend the treatment. Won't this cause the bacterium to become resistant to this drug?
