It is assumed that for a pregnant woman in the first weeks of pregnancy, the result of the beta-hCG hormone level determination should be more than 5 mIU/ ml. A result of less than 5 mIU/ml indicates that there is no pregnancy. Performing the determination of the level of the hormone beta-hCG from the blood is a test that allows the detection of early pregnancy. It is recommended to make the determination no earlier than at least 6 days after the date of the expected fertilization. In a properly developing pregnancy, beta-hCG levels double on average every 48 hours and increase until the 9-12th week of pregnancy. At a later stage of pregnancy, it drops to 10-20% of the maximum value. to @H:
The HCG test result means that you are not pregnant. According to the norms, a beta-hCG level below 5 mIU/ml indicates that you are not pregnant. Please remember that the beta HCG test has the highest reliability performed about 6-12 days after ovulation. Beta HCG can be considered reliable if it has been performed after at least 7 days after intercourse.

To @Mloda:
In this case, the result of 8.66 mIU/ml is in the so-called "gray area", which means that you may need to repeat the test after a few days to see if your hCG levels are increasing, which would be more characteristic of pregnancy.
It is also worth remembering that a delay in menstruation can be due to various reasons, such as stress, hormonal changes or other health factors.
Hello, my period is 4 days late, today I did Bete HCG and the result is 8.66, is it pregnancy ?

A result of <2.3 mIU/ml indicates that you are not pregnant. If the test was performed at least 7 days after intercourse, it can be considered reliable.

To @Андріанна:
No, beta-HCG results indicate no pregnancy and can be considered reliable as at least 7 days have passed since intercourse.
On the 10th day after intercourse, brown discharge appeared, similar to implantation bleeding. On the third day, I donated blood for hCG 2.3. Two days later, I repeated hCG 0.2.
Was I pregnant?

A result of <2.3 mIU/ml indicates that you are not pregnant. You performed the test more than 7 days after intercourse, so it can be considered reliable. If there are still doubts, the test can be repeated after a few days, if the result remains <5 mIU/ml, it will rule out pregnancy.

A reliable result of the beta-HCG test is obtained if it was performed at least 7 days after intercourse. A result of 3 mIU/ml indicates that you are not pregnant. The causes of late menstruation can be varied, e.g. stress, intense physical exertion, hormonal disorders. On the basis of such a short description, it is difficult to determine the specific cause of this situation. If menstruation does not occur in the coming days, I encourage you to consult a doctor who will recommend appropriate tests and help diagnose the cause. The consultation is all the more important if you have had menstrual disorders again. You can make an appointment for a teleconsultation here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja/z-ginekologiem

After 8 days after intercourse I did a blood test and my beta hcg is <2.3. Is there a possibility that I did it too early and there is a chance of pregnancy after all?
I'm 38 years old, my period is 7 days late. I did the test but it came out negative. Today I did a blood test with a result of 3 mlU/ml. Did I do the test and examination too early? Last week, when I was supposed to have my period, I felt bad, I had discomfort like during my period, but without bleeding. What could be the reason for this?

Probably between 6 and 8 weeks. Standards may vary from lab to lab. To confirm which week it is exactly, you should see a gynecologist.

To @July:
Yes, the test rules out pregnancy. Perhaps you performed them too early after potential fertilization?
It is worth bearing in mind that usually the symptoms of pregnancy are felt only a few (4-6) weeks after conception.

To @Desy:
If your beta-hCG levels are low but pregnancy tests have shown positive results, it may suggest a biochemical pregnancy or an ectopic pregnancy, where the pregnancy is not developing properly.
Normally, beta-hCG levels should increase as pregnancy progresses. In this situation, I encourage you to consult your doctor.
Hello, I repeated after two days a beta hcg with a result of 1.20 the first were 0.3

A beta-HCG result of 0.332 mIU/ml indicates no pregnancy. It can be considered reliable if it was performed at least 7 days after intercourse.
Regarding irregular menstruation, it is worth discussing the situation with your gynecologist. There are many causes of menstrual disorders, you can read more here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/leki-na-zaburzenia-miesiaczkowania
If necessary, the Gdziepolek.pl portal allows you to use a teleconsultation, it takes place in Polish: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja/z-ginekologiem

To @MartaK:
An increase in beta-hCG levels may suggest early pregnancy, however, this value is still low and inconclusive. In the case of PCOS, ovulation may be delayed, which affects the moment of implantation and the increase in beta-hCG levels.
I encourage you to repeat the level of beta-hCG after 48-72 hours, because in a properly developing pregnancy this level should double every 48-72 hours. It is worth consulting a gynaecologist for a thorough assessment of the situation and further tests.
Hello, I did a beta hcg test, but it turned out that it was almost a week too early and it came out below 0.2. On the day of the expected menstruation, I repeated the test after 5 days and it came out 1.8. I have polycystic ovaries, so ovulation may have still shifted. Why did the beta level increase? Is it possible that this means pregnancy? Repeat the test, if so, when?

Good morning
Can performing a laboratory test 3 days after the expected menstruation (about 16 days after ovulation) rule out pregnancy or should I test again after some time? The result came out <0,2.
