How does Levopront work? Will it turn a dry cough into a wet one?

Does levopront inhibit the cough reflex and after applying it will give way or does it have expectocrine properties and dry cough turn into wet? It is used for acute infection of the upper respiratory tract. (quite strong cold) CRP score 0.60

To @Kala:

The use of Levopront in case of a wet cough is not recommended. Levopront is a preparation intended mainly for the treatment of dry (non-productive) cough, because it acts as an antitussive that inhibits the cough reflex and does not support expectoration of secretions.

In the case of wet cough, which is characterized by the presence of phlegm, expectorant medications may be a better choice, which help to remove secretions from the respiratory tract.

In this situation, I encourage you to consult your doctor again to discuss the appropriate treatment and possibly change the medication to a more appropriate one for the symptoms of wet cough.

The doctor prescribed LEVOpront for wet, phlegmatic, detached cough. Should I use it if it is recommended for dry use?

Levopront is a syrup that relieves dry cough by inhibiting the cough reflex and abolishing bronchospasm. This medicine will not turn a dry cough into a wet one, as it works by stopping the cough. If you feel that along with the cough the secretion in the respiratory tract begins to break off, you should change the syrup to one with an expectorant effect (eg Flegamax) and ensure proper hydration of the body. On our portal you can compare the prices of these syrups in online pharmacies and place an order with home delivery or collection at the pharmacy: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/92559/levopront-syrop/apteki https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/97448/flegamax-plyn/apteki I enclose helpful materials: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/kaszel-suchy-i-mokry-jak-go-leczyc https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/kaszel-suchy

For @Miodzio: Yes, Levopront can be taken overnight - this drug inhibits the cough reflex, which can make it difficult to fall asleep.

I still have a question whether levopront can be taken overnight
