In the colloquial sense of the expression "psychotropic drug", all drugs used to treat mental illness can be referred to as "psychotropic". In this sense of the word, psychotropic drugs include drugs used in depression, anxiety or schizophrenia. According to another definition, psychotropic drugs are those that cross the blood-brain barrier, and thus exert an outflow on brain tissue. Such an understanding is broader and will also include drugs used in neurology, hypnotics or affecting memory and concentration functions. Existent is used in the treatment of neuropathic pain, drug disorders or epilepsy, so it can be classified, with this understanding of the word, as standard psychotropic drugs. The definition of psychotropic substances - which is closer to pharmacists - is introduced by the annex to the Act on counteracting drug addiction. It contains medicinal substances that have addictive potential, which may be associated with their abuse. In my opinion, such drugs could be described by the patient as strong psychotropic drugs. In this sense, the drug Existent is not a psychotropic, or as the patient prefers - is not a strong psychotropic. Probably your question stems from the concern about the effect of the drug Existent on the body. In this matter, I recommend to trust the doctor.
