Can I combine Siofor and Glucophage XR?

Can I combine two drugs? Siofor 500 is used in the morning and at noon, and glucophage XR 1000 in the evening.

Changing the dosage of metformin from Siofor (3x1000 mg) to Glucophage XR (1x1000 mg) is in line with the recommendations for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Glucophage XR is an extended-release form, which means it lasts longer in the body and is typically taken once a day, which is more convenient for the patient.

Switching to Glucophage XR 1000mg once a day is warranted and should be safe as long as there are no contraindications such as severe kidney failure. If you have any doubts or experience any adverse effects, please contact your doctor, who can tailor your treatment to your individual needs.

Zarówno lek Siofor, jak i Glucophage zawierają w swoim składzie tę samą substancję czynną - metforminę. Czy zatem takie postępowanie i dawkowanie metforminy (rano 500 mg - połowa dnia 500 mg - wieczorem 1000 mg XR) zalecił Pani lekarz?
