Some pharmacies provide a service of issuing a pharmaceutical prescription for the vaccine and administering the vaccine. The information is contained next to the name of a specific pharmacy. It should be borne in mind that then there is no discount on the vaccine, as a pharmaceutical prescription can only be issued with a 100% payment. The price is then PLN 751.16
However, as announced by the Ministry of Health, this is soon to change and the pharmacist will be able to issue a prescription for this drug at a discount, including free of charge for people 65+ (as in the case of pneumococcal vaccines).
At the moment, a prescription from a doctor is necessary to receive the vaccine at a discount.
The discount is available to people aged 18 and over with an increased risk of developing shingles, i.e. with: chronic heart disease, chronic lung disease, diabetes, chronic kidney failure, congenital or acquired immunodeficiency, generalized cancer, HIV infection, Hodgkin's disease, iatrogenic immunosuppression, leukemia, etc. Then the price for 1 dose of the vaccine is PLN 375.58.
Seniors (people aged 65 and older) receive the vaccine free of charge.

Szczepionki Shingrix, a także analogiczna Zostavax zostały zarejestrowany w tzw. "procedurze centralnej" - we wszystkich krajach wspólnoty od razu, dlatego sam fakt dopuszczenia szczepionki do obrotu nie oznacza, że faktycznie jest ona dostarczana na nasz rynek. Producent poprzez tę procedurę utworzył sobie furtkę umożliwiającą wprowadzenie leku do obrotu między innymi w naszym kraju, ale niekoniecznie musi z takiej opcji skorzystać. Nietrudno się domyśleć, że istotne mogą być kwestie biznesowe i logistyczne.
Przykładowo dla szczepionki Zostavax napłynęła odpowiedź, że nie jest ona dostępna na rynku polskim i dystrybucja nie jest planowana. Natomiast producent szczepionki Shingrix nie odpowiedział, czy dostarcza produkt na polski rynek. Należy się domyślać, że nie. Na ten moment nie jest ona dostępna w żadnej z aptek współpracujących z GdziePoLek:
