Hello, tell me, if the Evra patch has been in a package for several days in a backpack on the windowsill in sunny weather, will its contraceptive properties decrease? The weather outside was about 30 degrees, a little more. The sun fell on the windowsill. Is the patch ineffective? What is the risk of storing the patch at a high temperature? Will hormones be released faster? I have already glued it.

If you have not ejaculated in the vagina, there is no reason to worry. The rubbing of the genitals alone (even if there was semen on them) does not lead to fertilization.

Evra patches should be stored below 30°C, away from sunlight. Direct sunlight and high temperature can potentially affect hormone stability and reduce contraceptive effectiveness. However, it is not possible to clearly assess whether the patch has lost its effectiveness – the risk is difficult to estimate. To be safe, I recommend using an additional method of contraception (e.g. a condom) until the end of the cycle and observing your body.
