If you use the Evra contraceptive patch correctly for two weeks, the risk of pregnancy is very low, even after intercourse, because the patch works by inhibiting ovulation and thickening the cervical mucus, making it difficult for sperm to reach the egg. The effectiveness of this method when used properly is about 99%.
It is important not to exceed the 7-day gap between cycles of using the patches, as a longer break can increase the risk of ovulation and thus pregnancy. If you experience symptoms suggesting pregnancy or no bleeding in between cycles, it's a good idea to take a pregnancy test to be sure.
