Good morning. Is there a maximum time until which the maximum dose of parogen can be taken? Recently someone told me that you shouldn't be on the highest dose for 2 months, is that true? I've been taking this drug in the maximum dose for some time now and it has stressed me out a bit.

The decision to use specific doses of the drug is made by the specialist prescribing the treatment. Parogen (and other antidepressants) are intended for long-term use. The maximum daily dose is 50-60 mg depending on the diagnosis and therapeutic effect in a particular patient. The summary of product characteristics does not indicate the need to differentiate the duration of therapy depending on the dose taken. Long-term treatment with high-dose antidepressants may require a longer withdrawal procedure (this is associated with gradual dose reduction).
