Hello
I take venlafaxine for my fibromyalgia.
I've been taking it for 13 years and have gained almost 20 kg in that time.
My question: Does bupropion also help against the pain of fibromyalgue?
I would be very happy to receive an answer.

Venlafaxine is a drug with a documented pain-reducing effect (in doses of at least 150 mg/day). Bupropion has a different mechanism of action, its use in the described situation may be based on the improvement of cognitive functions and the reduction of depression (the drug has a stimulating effect). The decision to change the method of treatment should be made by the doctor conducting the treatment. Other drugs (e.g. antiepileptics) are also used to treat fibromyalgia. A significant proportion of the medications used to treat fibromyalgia can cause weight gain.
