Can leg pain after about a week of taking Pylera be a side effect, and should I continue treatment?

I have problems with my legs after about a week, after taking Pylera. But my doctor says very clearly, that could not be that the pain from taking Pylera
Such pain is present.

I should continue to take the drug, otherwise there is no other possibility of removing the bacteria from the stomach.

Does anyone else have a different opinion, Or how I can minimize the pain?

Best regards

Leg pain may be one of the side effects of Pylera, most likely related to the metronidazole it contains, which can cause peripheral neuropathy manifested by pain, numbness or tingling in the extremities. If the pain is bothersome or increasing, it should be reported to the doctor to rule out other causes and consider possible modification of therapy.

Continuing treatment is important because Pylera is an effective drug for eradicating Helicobacter pylori bacteria, and stopping therapy can make it difficult to cure the infection. To minimize pain, avoid the use of non-steroidal painkillers, which may increase the risk of side effects. Also, consult your doctor for possible support or change of treatment.

Please note that any side effects of medications should be reported immediately to your doctor or pharmacist. Reporting these events helps to protect the health of other patients, including your loved ones, who may be using the same medicine in the future. In addition, such notifications make it possible to collect and update data on the safety of medicinal products.
