Split powders made in a pharmacy for patients can be in the form of a capsule (if the pharmacy has a capsule machine) or a powder enclosed in a starch wafer. While the first form usually does not cause problems for patients, the second variant may be a little more difficult to swallow. Before taking the medicine, the wafer can be moistened, then placed on the tongue and washed down with water. In case of swallowing problems, the powder can be poured onto a spoon and taken with a small amount of water (this procedure also works well when administering the drug to a child).
