What vaccinations should I get before going to Thailand? Can I get vaccinated at a pharmacy?

People planning to travel to Thailand are not required to take any preventive vaccinations. The exception is people traveling from countries with yellow fever (yellow fever) - they must provide proof of vaccination against this disease.

Recommended vaccinations include routine and booster vaccinations* and vaccinations against, e.g.:

- hepatitis A (hepatitis A),

- typhoid,

- yellow fever,

- rabies (recommended for selected travelers, depending on individual risk),

- cholera (recommended for selected travelers, depending on individual risk),

- Japanese encephalitis (recommended for selected travelers, depending on individual risk),

- malaria^ (recommended for selected travelers, depending on individual risk, ^we are talking about chemoprophylaxis).

*Routine vaccinations: m.in. against hepatitis B, influenza, measles/mumps/rubella (MMR), meningococci, chickenpox, pneumococcus; Booster vaccinations: against tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, polio.

It is possible to get vaccinated at a pharmacy that offers this type of service.
